Your Role: Technical Capture Manager
The Technical Capture Manager leads the strategy and development of active opportunities and partners closely with the Growth Operations team to ensure priority pursuits are positioned to win. This role focuses on gathering client intelligence, shaping the win approach, and coordinating the internal work needed to advance a pursuit from early qualification through the proposal submission. In addition to supporting specific proposal and bid opportunities, the Technical Capture Manager is also responsible for supporting customer engagements, capability presentations, and driving technical differentiators.
What You’ll Do:
Drive capture strategy and day-to-day progression of assigned pursuits from qualification through proposal handoff, keeping T&D and Growth Operations leadership informed on status, risks, and key decisions
Support go/no-go discussions by compiling client intelligence, competitive insight, and risk considerations for leadership review
Build and maintain pursuit plans, timelines, and action items to keep internal teams aligned and accountable to key milestones
Translate client requirements, scopes, and priorities into actionable pursuit strategies for engineering, project management, estimating, and growth contributors.
Coordinate cross-functional contributors to ensure pursuit inputs are delivered on time and reflect the client's stated and unstated priorities
Develop pursuit-specific win themes, differentiators, and positioning strategies that distinguish Ampirical's approach from the competition
Prepare pursuit updates and strategy materials for leadership review, including risk assessment, approach rationale, and key drivers, ensuring senior leadership maintains visibility into priority pursuit positioning
Identify risks, gaps, and timing challenges early and drive collaborative resolution across contributing teams
Capture lessons learned from completed pursuits and apply insights to improve future capture execution
Prepare and coordinate pricing and profitability analysis for bid events in collaboration with Finance and PMO.
Develop and maintain pricing tools and spreadsheets to support pricing exercises across the T&D organization.
Support T&D organization with identifying technical differentiators in assigned regions and disciplines, including software, technology and automation tools.
What You Bring:
2-4+ years of experience in capture, pursuit strategy, proposals, or business development support roles preferred
Experience leading or supporting capture efforts for RFP-driven pursuits in utilities, engineering, EPC, or infrastructure environments
8-10 years of previous experience in Power Delivery Engineering role strongly preferred
Strong pursuit planning, organization, and coordination capabilities
Ability to understand technical scopes, delivery strategies, and client expectations
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and executive groups
