Your Role:
The Site Safety Technician provides on-site support for the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs. This entry-level role assists with safety inspections, compliance monitoring, training activities, and incident documentation. The technician works under the guidance of safety leadership to help ensure a safe working environment and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do:
Safety program leadership: Implement and oversee compliance with site-specific safety plans, ensuring consistent application across all projects.
Site inspections and audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits, identify hazards, verify proper use of safety equipment, and ensure compliance with established procedures and regulations, and provide constructive feedback.
Training and development: Lead safety training, orientations, and kickoff meetings for employees and subcontractors.
Incident oversight: Participate in investigations into accidents and injuries, review documentation prepared by subcontractors, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Reporting and documentation: Prepare and review the accuracy of safety records, inspections, incident reports, and corrective action logs, consolidating information for management review.
What You Bring:
🎓 Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
📊 Experience: 1 year + of construction safety experience
OR Associates or Bachelor degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field in lieu of experience
A minimum certification is REQUIRED and can be any of the following or in lieu of certification 3 + years of construction safety experience and willingness to obtain certification:
Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Construction Site Safety Supervisor (CSSS)
Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST)
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
Safety Management Specialist (SMS)
Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP)
Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS)
Certified Occupational Safety Manager (COSM)
OSHA 510
Preferred experience:
6 months of direct Industrial Construction Safety experience
Knowledge of U.S. regulations applicable for HSE.
Knowledge of site audits and HSE management system audits.
Knowledgeable of the respective industry recognized standards used in construction project inspections and compliance.
Knowledge of Human Performance Principles and Theory.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
