Engineer III -

• 3+ years of experience

• FE required. In lieu of FE, 2 additional years of experience are required.

• $80,000 - $119,000 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)E

Engineer IV-

• FE required. In lieu of FE, 2 additional years required

• PE preferred

• $92,000 - $140,000 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)

Your Role: Experienced Substation Civil Engineer - Foundation

The Substation Engineer (Civil) is responsible for the design and procurement of site and equipment/materials for substation facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes, standards and customer requirements. They will work closely with other departments and clients to ensure quality, meeting client's standards and expectations and provide field support to the client during construction activities as required.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical proposals for civil site design on substation projects

• Conduct structural analysis for substation equipment foundations and support structures

• Review and validate site layouts, equipment arrangements, and access/maintenance requirements for constructability

• Design structural components including cable tray, conduit support, equipment supports, and other support structures

• Integrate relay and substation component requirements into structural designs

• Apply relevant codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, local stormwater regulations)Conduct QC reviews on work produced by lower‑level engineers and designers

• Mentor junior engineers on modeling, design methods, and software tools

• Provide moderate field support including site walkdowns, construction review, and development of scopes for site improvements

What You Bring

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university

• FE required for both levels (or +2 years experience in lieu of FE)

• PE preferred for Engineer IV

📊 Experience

• Engineer III: 3+ years of experience in substation civil design within the utilities or energy industry

• Engineer IV: 5+ years of experience with demonstrated technical depth and project leadership

• Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE 80/998
