Your Role: Cyber Engineering Intern
The Cyber Engineering Intern supports the engineering, design, development, implementation, and analysis of cyber-physical systems under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads. This internship is designed for students interested in applying cybersecurity and engineering principles to complex, real-world systems within critical infrastructure and high-consequence environments. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to how cyber engineering decisions are made, validated, and refined in a professional setting, and how security, system performance, and operational constraints intersect in cyber-physical systems. High-performing interns may be considered for future internship or full-time opportunities at Cybirical.
Department Overview
A sister company of Ampirical, Cybirical's approach to cybersecurity is unlike that of anyone in the industry. In addition to protecting our clients’ sensitive information, our engineers and information security professionals are available to help bridge the gap between IT and OT. By leveraging the capabilities of each device, we are able to engineer security into each system resulting in a feasible and economical cybersecurity solution. Each design is based on the latest power system cybersecurity standards from IEEE, IEC, and NIST, while also ensuring alignment and documenting adherence to NERC, state, and local cybersecurity regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do
Support the engineering, design, and implementation of cyber-physical systems, researching tools and methodologies and documenting findings clearly under mentor guidance
Apply foundational secure coding and cybersecurity practices to assigned work, following team standards and raising concerns when unsure
