What You’ll Do
The Engineering Document Control Specialist supports engineering and design teams by organizing, tracking, and maintaining critical technical documentation throughout the lifecycle of engineering projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys working with structured information, technical documentation, and collaborative engineering teams. You'll help ensure engineering drawings, submittals, and project documentation remain organized, accurate, and compliant with company and client standards.
You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams while learning engineering documentation processes, revision control standards, and project workflows.
Execute document control procedures and organize project files and engineering documentation
Prepare engineering submittal and transmittal packages including stamping, scanning, indexing, and distribution
Log, track, and route engineering drawings through internal review workflows
Maintain drawing registers, engineering folders, and electronic project libraries
Organize technical documentation and project records in accordance with company standards
Support engineering teams by gathering redlines and updating document metadata
Perform quality checks to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and formatting compliance
Assist with file management across shared platforms such as SharePoint, ShareFile, Procore, and Fusion
Track documentation status using project schedules, trackers, and distribution matrices
Maintain organized project files and engineering contact lists
Participate in team meetings and drawing reviews to learn engineering documentation workflows
Use Microsoft Office and PDF tools such as Bluebeam for markup and document management
Follow engineering safety, compliance, and data protection protocols while maintaining accurate records
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
0–2 years of experience in document control, engineering support, office administration, or a similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow structured processes and maintain accurate records
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Drafting, Paralegal Studies, or related field
Experience in engineering, construction, utilities, or project-based environments
Familiarity with PDF editing tools such as Bluebeam Revu
Exposure to engineering document management platforms (SharePoint, Procore, ShareFile, etc.)
Coursework or certifications related to document control or records management
