Your Role: Associate Engineer
Job Summary
The Associate Engineer is responsible for the detailed design of electric systems and components for Substation Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards. This includes preparation of protection and control one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams. This position is responsible for developing detailed protection and control design packages for electrical substation construction purposes and works under the supervision of experienced electrical engineers.
Job Duties
- Using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, and/or Bentley Substation, software in the preparation of electrical substation equipment including schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layout drawings.
- Perform voltage drop calculations as required to proper cable sizing.
- Prepare 2D drawings of one-line/elementary diagrams, control building layouts, panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, power distribution system, etc.
- Consult with electrical engineer and engineering supervisor to develop the 2D drawings for final construction packages.
Qualifications
- Engineering Technology Degree plus 0-2 years of experience in protection and control design.
- Design experience in Autodesk AutoCAD, and/or Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Bentley Microstation, and/or Bentley Substation.
