Your Role: Senior Site Safety Manager
The Senior Site Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of construction and project sites. This role includes interpretating and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections, and providing leadership and guidance to site safety managers under their supervision. The manager will proactively identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and direct incident investigations and reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Safety program leadership: Interpretate, implement, and oversee comprehensive
site-specific safety plans, ensuring consistent application across all projects. - Site inspections and audits: Direct and conduct regular inspections and audits,
identify hazards, verify proper use of safety equipment, and ensure compliance
with established procedures and regulations, and provide constructive feedback. - Training and development: Lead safety training, orientations, and kickoff meetings
for employees and subcontractors, while mentoring site safety managers to deliver
effective training at their sites. - Incident oversight: Manage and guide investigations into accidents and injuries,
review documentation prepared by site safety managers, and ensure corrective
actions are implemented. - Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to all occupational, environmental, and
legislative safety requirements, including OSHA standards, and monitor compliance
across subordinate safety managers with client requirements. - Risk management: Continuously evaluate safety policies and procedures, direct site safety managers in risk identification, and implement proactive mitigation
strategies. - Reporting and documentation: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of safety
records, inspections, incident reports, and corrective action logs, consolidating
information for management review. - Mentorship and guidance: Provide leadership, expert advice, and ongoing
mentorship to site safety managers, employees, and subcontractors to foster a
strong culture of safety and operational excellence.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated record of high performance with 5+ years of direct Industrial Construction Safety experience.
- 5+ years of practical experience as a Site Safety Manager and enforcing safety management programs.
- Experience with U.S. regulations applicable for HSE.
- Experience with management systems compliant to standards OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001).
- Experience performing Internal workshop/site audits and HSE management system audits.
- Knowledgeable of the respective industry recognized standards used in construction project
inspections. - Expert knowledge of Human Performance Principles and Theory.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and influence other decision makers within the organization.
