Your Role: Transmission Engineer III
What You’ll Do
The Engineer III is responsible for the engineering, design, development, implementation, and analysis of Transmission and Distribution Line power systems. This role is responsible for project oversight and mentoring of Designers and Engineers. The Engineer III must perform regular ongoing interface with the client at their offices and occasionally in the field at job walks and site visits.
- Develops conceptual routes, terrain models, structure loading calculations, layouts, preliminary and for construction detailed engineering and design, and specifications for high voltage transmission and/or distribution lines.
- Develops project engineering, design, and construction deliverables including plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials, stringing charts, pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and other construction drawings.
- Provides quality assurance and quality checks for project engineering deliverables developed internally or by third parties.
- Creates engineering and design project guidelines and criteria.
- Analyzes construction as-built revisions.
- Provides construction support including responding to project Request for Information's throughout the project life cycle.
- Supports client's project engineers, including interfacing regularly with the client at their offices or in the field attending project job walks.
- Project oversight and mentoring of Designers and Engineers.
- Performs any other duty or task as assigned by the Manager, Director, or Vice President of Transmission and Distribution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of transmission and/or distribution line design experience.
- Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD, and MFAD/Foundation Analysis and Design (FAD) Tools.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage tasks for multiple projects under budget, and comply with time constraints.
- High level of personal initiative and the ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors.
