Your Role: Field Distribution Specialist I
We are seeking a dependable Field Distribution Specialist I to join Ampirical. This role is part of our Cappstone Energy Group team, which focuses on delivering specialized field services that support the safe and reliable operation of utility infrastructure. As a Field Distribution Specialist I, you will work alongside experienced specialists on utility pole design projects and design poles that require replacing. The position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, the ability to work outdoors in all conditions, and computer/technical skills. Travel is required for on-site field work and meetings with clients or contractors. Most travel is within the state and may occasionally require overnight stays.
What You’ll Do
- Perform field assessments and site visits to collect data for pole replacement projects
- Design and draft pole replacement layouts, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety codes
- Prepare design packages, including construction drawings, material lists, and supporting documentation
- Assist with line extension and territory projects as assigned, gaining exposure to broader distribution design practices
- Coordinate with senior designers and field crews to resolve design questions and support construction
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations
- Maintain accurate records and update systems with project data
- Develop foundational knowledge of distribution systems, design tools, and industry practices
What You Bring
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of work experience in the electric distribution industry
- Proficiency in design/drafting software, mapping systems, or GIS preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct field visits
